Legacy Trees

Who does the planting?

The City of Montgomery plants the tree and mulches a two-inch caliper tree in a public location.

When will my tree be planted?

Tress are planted in the fall and winter when optimal new root growth can be realized.

Where will my tree be planted?

Trees are professionally planted on public land, at churches and other institutions by special arrangement.

How much does it cost?

One Legacy Tree with an engraved granite marker is $250.00.

One of the kindest ways to commemorate someone special is to plant a tree in their honor. Montgomery Trees facilitates this through its Legacy Tree Project.

For a contribution of $250 dollars, Montgomery Trees will plant a 2 inch caliper tree and install a plaque on public property (such as a park or street right-of-way), or at a church or public institution by special arrangement.

Each Legacy Tree is maintained throughout its lifetime and falls under the care of Montgomery’s urban forester. In addition to adding to the beauty of the city, these trees help us care for our environment by purifying the air we breathe and the water we drink.

Commemorating someone with a Legacy Tree honors them by making a lasting aesthetic and environmental improvement for us all to enjoy.
